Hope Alliance in Round Rock is looking for volunteers to provide a variety of services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including: answering the agency’s crisis hotline, providing administrative and outreach support, and working with children and adults at the 24-hour emergency shelter. We have a wide range of opportunities, flexible scheduling, and are open to new, creative volunteering ideas.

All volunteers must pass a criminal background check and attend a one-hour orientation at our main office.

Volunteers who would like to serve our clients directly must receive Sexual Assault Advocate Certification through the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

Mission Statement

Hope Alliance assists those affected by family and sexual violence by providing services and developing partnerships that lead to hope, healing, and prevention. Hope Alliance provides free, voluntary, confidential services. Our crisis hotline is available 24 hours a day (1-800-460-SAFE) for crisis counseling. An emergency shelter is available to victims of family and sexual violence, including adults and their children. We also provide counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, and help with crime victim's compensation.

Description

The Volunteer Program develops and maintains mutually beneficial relationships between Hope Alliance and the community at large in order to enhance the range of services provided to survivors of family and sexual violence. Volunteers may serve Hope Alliance clients directly or indirectly. To serve directly, volunteers must to attend a 32-40 hour advocacy training to become State Certified Victim's Advocates.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 8 hours per month, but we are flexible.
  • Must complete certification to work directly with Hope Alliance clients, but there are many volunteer opportunities that do not require certification.
