Caris Healthcare Volunteers make a difference in the lives of patients and famlies. They are amazing individuals who offer gifts of caring, compassion, and grace to people facing a life-limiting illness. At Caris, volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team who give of their time, talens, and their hands to those who need it most. They provide:
* A hand to hold and a voice that reassures
* Support in the final moments of life
* Reading and writing of letters for the patient
* Companionship, watching television
* In some cases, spiritual care and prayer

Description
We are a hospice provider that deals with terminal illnesses and assist the family and patients in meeting their end of life needs. Hospice services include visits from skilled nursing professionals to ensure that patients are comfortable and attended to properly; certified nursing aides to assist and provide for personal care; chaplains to be a source of spiritual support for the patients and their families; and social workers to provide for emotional support and to assist in obtaining financial assistance. Hospice services are available 24/7, 365 days a year.
