Our Senior Services is a volunteer-based program focused on helping older people and those with disabilities with specific tasks which they are unable to do for themselves, thereby helping them to remain in their own homes longer.
Our Senior Services volunteers perform chores such as seasonal cleaning, yard work, snow removal, minor home repairs, and installing home adaptions such as grab bars, lever-type door knobs, and raised toilet seats. The chore services offers volunteers on-going individual opportunities as well as community chore days twice a year.
Our Groceries to Go home delivery service offers volunteer drivers the opportunity to deliver groceries and incidental household or personal items to older people and those with disabilities. Typically, volunteers will drive within their own communities one afternoon per week. The time commitment varies with each volunteer's availability.
We also offer volunteer opportunities with our adult respite day programs in Pine City Day Break) and North Branch (A New Day). The Day Break program in Pine City meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, 10 am - 2 pm, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The New Day program in North Branch meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, 10 am - 2 pm, at the Senior Center. Volunteers are needed to assist participants with both programs.
