We believe that every dog and cat, no matter their age, medical need, or behavioral issue, deserves a wonderful forever home. These animals need extra love - and will give it back a thousand times over. We know that if potential adopters knew about these special animals, they would welcome them into their homes.

Core Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization that advocates for the underdog. We rejoice and stand up for senior animals. We know that special needs and animals with behavioral issues are some of the most joyful and grateful animals around. Core Paws helps find adopters to give these animals the beautiful lives that they deserve. Our website showcases hard-to-place animals in rescues and shelters across the nation.

Our team is full of passionate professionals working together to utilize their skills to help as many hard-to-place homeless animals as possible. One of the largest initiatives of Core Paws is to support our partner shelters and rescues without a cost to them. This currently includes posting animals to our website, to social media channels, and promoting them through marketing activities.

Currently, fundraising is comprised of small events and social media campaigns, which helps to spread the reach of our movement for hard-to-place homeless animals and helps cover overhead expenses. Our future goal is to be able to have funds that would help our hardest animals get the care they need in order to be more adoptable (training, behavior consultations, pay for medicine, etc). For example, we recently completed an online fundraising campaign achieving our goal of raising $1,000 to help one of our Core Paws dogs, Odie, receive the behavioral consultation appointments he needed.

The Board of Directors is actively involved in expanding its fundraising efforts and is looking for a volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to assist with developing and implementing an annual fundraising plan. The plan will likely include event fundraising and fundraising for Core Paws funds that support not only our animals but also the people who care for them.

Adopting an animal showcased on Core Paws means a happy tail wag from a 12-year old dog who had lost his owner. It’s a purr from a cat who was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and requires medication for the rest of her life. It’s a trusting approach from an animal who used to fear the world.

For volunteers, Core Paws allows you to feel a part of this movement from wherever you are in the United States, our Virtual Volunteer Program is top of the line and we can’t wait to meet you.
