Sunday Assembly Portland is a nonprofit corporation chartered with the mission to help people "live better, help often, wonder more." We are affiliated with the international Sunday Assembly, based in the U.K., and held our first event in Portland on December 10, 2013. We are a small organization with assets of under $10,000, and yearly income under $10,000. This position is available Jan. 1, 2017.

Time: Minimum 2 hrs./week
Length of term: Continuous, no limit.
-- Provide day-to-day leadership
-- Oversee all committees and programs (program committee, childcare committee, fundraising program, etc.)
-- Attend Board meetings
-- Authorized to make spending decisions on $100 items or less (larger financial decisions are made by the Board)
-- Be the spokesperson for media (Tv, radio, internet, etc.), speaking on behalf of the organization
Additional duties if desired:
-- Develop a plan to create, and fund, paid part-time and full-time positions (President, etc. as needed)
-- A college degree is preferred but not required
-- Work and personal references
-- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
-- Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
The Board will provide a probational review after 3 months, and a yearly review after that.
