The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy is seeking individual volunteers and volunteer groups to participate in their "Better Waterways Cleanup". Perfect for Scout troops, church groups, families, and neighbors!
Since 2013, our volunteers have removed over 24,000 pounds of GARBAGE from our local streams! Spend a couple hours giving back to the community and you will see an immediate improvement in water quality. Community service learning hours available.
This event will be taking place at MULTIPLE LOCATIONS throughout Baltimore County. Teams will remove garbage from neighborhood creeks under the supervision of trained Creek Captains. Trash bags and refreshments provided. Bring your own work gloves, water bottle and tick repellent. Dress appropriately for field work (pants, long sleeved top, hat, rubber boots). Want to find out if there will be a stream clean-up near you on November 19? Send a general inquiry to Amy Young, Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator, at ayoung@gunpowdervc.org or (410) 404-4748. You can also register online at gunpowdervalleyconservancy.org/calendar/More opportunities with Gunpowder Valley Conservancy
