Basketball season is just around the corner for Seattle Parks and Recreation and that means hundreds of Seattle youth will be coming into the Community Centers to sign up for teams. It also means that we will need volunteer coaches for those teams. Our low cost leagues can't operate without the dedication of our awesome coaches! Please contact your local community center to inquire about coaching volunteer opportunities.
Just a few easy steps to get involved first; talk to community center staff about applying for a coaching position, Adults 18+ must register online as a volunteer and pass our background check before working with youth. Then work with community center staff to form your team roster, request practice times and confirm that all kids are registered before the first practice. We also provide a coaches meeting/training and get you ready for a rewarding experience!
You may find the Coach description for each community center at: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/volunteer/sports-coaching
