West Seattle Helpline

West Seattle Helpline is seeking volunteers to assist on our Helpline Hotline and reach out to previous clients, retrieving thoughts/opinions that will better shape our future programs.

As an evaluation volunteer, you will be responsible for helping us receive, process, and evaluate data from our bi-monthly client feedback surveys. This will involve speaking to previous clients on the phone about the services they received to collect required information and contacting other staff members as necessary.

Volunteering a couple hours every month will allow WSH to improve our programs and better serve our West Seattle Neighbors, and it will also give volunteers a chance to provide additional support to clients who may be seeking other services. Shifts will range from 1-2 hours, and scheduling can be very flexible!

This role is perfect for individuals who are:

-currently studying in the field of social work

-seeking experience in nonprofit program development

-comfortable speaking on the phone

-interested in serving the community & supporting a local social service agency

If interested, please contact the Program Manager at theresa@wshelpline.org for more information and to apply to volunteer!

Mission Statement

The West Seattle Helpline is a non-profit social service agency offering temporary emergency assistance for West Seattle neighbors. We provide financial aid and referral advice to members of our community who find themselves in need. We also have a clothing bank where families can get 3 free outfits every two months. By providing access to a wide range of information and community services we also help people find their way toward self-sufficiency.

Description

Each year we help approximately 1,200 West Seattle residents who, because of illness, loss of employment, disability, limited income, or a combination of circumstances, find themselves in need. Our services include direct aid toward rent, utilities, food, clothes, transportation, and referrals to other needed services. We do problem solving with clients to find long-term solutions. The Helpline is funded by individuals, churches, and businesses in West Seattle.
