The general function of this position is to gain relevant experience in providing services to refugee populations with a focus on public benefits and medical resources. This may include researching and assessing barriers to care experienced by refugee populations in order to increase access to health care systems and public benefits. This volunteer opportunity would include but is not limited to the following tasks:
- General administrative management of case files
- Effective documentation and maintenance of case notes
- Assisting the benefits coordinator with various benefits application for refugee clients
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Attendance of mandatory training
- Cultural Competence
- Background Check
- Driver’s License and Insurance
- At least 18 years old
