ORGANIZATION: Hagley Museum and Library
Please visit the new page to apply.
Engineering Endeavors is a six-week, workshop series for middle school students (grades 6-8). Students meet once a week for a three-hour workshop focusing on different aspects of engineering. The workshop series is led by two Hagley educators with assistance from two Hagley volunteers. Volunteers assist with activity facilitation, set-up and clean-up. Activities are both indoor and outdoor. Volunteers have an opportunity to spend three hours each week with incredible students, inspiring them to consider studying engineering and perhaps making a career of it.
One session will be on Tuesdays, running from October 4-November 8. The other will be on Thursday, running from October 6-November 10. All workshops run from 1-4pm, with a report time of 12:15.
Qualified volunteers must be comfortable with middle school students, facilitating engineering concepts and activities, walking through the Hagley property. Training and materials are provided prior to the workshop series beginning. Volunteers must be able to attend the training and all six workshops (either all Tuesdays or all Thursdays) during the series.

Mission Statement
Hagley Museum and Library collects, preserves, and interprets the unfolding history of American enterprise. Hagley is located on 235 acres by the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware.
Description
Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.
Hagley's library furthers the study of business and technology in America, especially the Middle Atlantic region. The collections include individuals' papers and companies' records ranging from eighteenth-century merchants to modern telecommunications and illustrate the impact of the business system on society.
The Center for the History of Business, Technology, and Society organizes and administers the Hagley Museum and Library's interaction with the world of scholarship. It brings attention to Hagley's research collections and generates intellectual dialogue at Hagley.
