PeaceGeeks is a global non-profit, volunteer organization that uses technology to build the technological, communications and management capacities of grassroots organizations who work to promote peace, accountability and human rights. We develop partnerships with these organizations to provide meaningful support designed to increase their skills, effectiveness and impact. Position Overview:

The Events Team Leads will oversee the logistics and coordination for all PeaceGeeks events. The successful candidates will also support various teams within the organization. This position would be best suited to an individual who possesses a progressive interest in the execution of events, while keeping up-to-date with global issues and current events, preferably pertinent to peacebuilding. The Events Team Leads will work cooperatively and report to the Marketing Team Lead and/or Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizes the logistics and implementation of various fundraising events for different teams within the organization
  • Plans and executes PeaceTalks, Hackathon, and PeaceGeeks 101 events
  • Formulates outreach strategies to attract attendees and maximize participants
  • Acts as a PeaceGeeks Ambassador
  • Supports the marketing team as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an events planning capacity
  • Diploma in Event Planning or equivalent field is an asset
  • Understanding of event preparation, organization, and implementation
  • An absolute team player to join our team
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and time management skills
  • Driven to meet various deadlines
