Engage. Encourage. Inspire! Volunteers are urgently needed at Longfellow and Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle Schools in Berkeley to provide one-on-one academic support to students on their classroom writing assignments. We provide free training to help students, from the most struggling to the most advanced, become more confident and competent writers and thinkers. Make a commitment of 1-2 hours during the school day, a few times per month, and enjoy the satisfaction of helping students succeed!
We welcome parents, grandparents, college students, working and retired people, and community members of all backgrounds. Volunteers must complete the WCC training to become a writing coach. Go to www.writercoachconnection.org, watch our 2-minute welcome video, and click on Volunteer Now (lower left) for our last two-part training of the season, starting Tuesday, October 25. Questions?
