Volunteer Veteran to Veteran Patient. We need your hearts desire to volunteer to help by, volunteering to be with and provide companionship, socialization, talking, watching tv what ever the patient can do at the moment of their hospice journey. You do not have to have experience only the desire, we can train you.
Volunteering, is very a rewarding opportunity to meet the veteran patient and the family where they are in their hospice journey. To be able to provide active listening, companionship, cook a meal, and or allow them time to run errands and the caregiver not worry about how are they getting everything accomplished and take care of their loved on hospice as well. It is such a grate feeling giving your time talking and just finding out about their stories and hearing them tell you thank you and all you have done is give your time to be present.
Training, orientation is provided free, Background check, drug screen, Flu shot. Must be 18 years old and a Veteran.
Our patients and families need you to volunteer 1-4 hours planned around your schedule with a plan of care set in place.
What a wonderful experience you had with hospice palliative care for your loved one! Are you ready now to give back?
We need you the Veteran to help our Veteran patients.
