At Make-A-Wish, we grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Greater Bay Area Chapter is headquartered in San Francisco, and covers 17 counties of Northern California, granting close to 400 wishes per year.

The Program Department is looking for a volunteer to assist with wish accounting. This essential position will help the Program Team grant more wishes by ensuring wishes are reconciled and closed in a timely manner. The weekly, 4-hour shift must be done during our office hours - 9am-5pm, M-F. We can mutually decide a shift that works with your schedule (e.g. Tuesday 1-5pm, Wednesday, 9am-1pm).

Duties include:

• Reconciling wish budget (cost sheets) with financial records.
• Working with program staff to resolve discrepancies between wish budget and financial reports.
• Monitoring financial reports to ensure that wishes are closed in a timely manner.

Desired Qualifications:

• Passion for the mission, vision and wish granting process of Make-A-Wish.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience with data entry and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with data collection and analysis strongly preferred.
• Accounting or finance experience is helpful though not required.
