Project Homeless Connect is a large scale event coordinated by the Nevada Homeless Alliance that provides several services to the homeless, as well as low income families and individuals. Human service organizations will be providing medical and dental services, legal and benefits counseling, mental health services, housing information, veterans assistance and much more. So how does PAL fit in? PAL is chairing the pet services area of the event, meaning we are working with several groups to provide services for pets such as grooming, health checks and vaccinations, free food and supplies. We are looking for 10 volunteers to help throughout the day and cover two shifts:

  • 8:00 am to 12:00 pm - 5 volunteers
  • 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm - 5 volunteers
Volunteer Roles:
  • Set-up/tear-down
  • Greeting and checking in the homeless and low income community guests
  • Giveaway table - handing out pet food and supplies
  • Assisting with attendees' service applications
  • Other miscellaneous event support operations
The event takes place from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Cashman Center. Volunteer shifts start at 8 AM. Volunteers will need to attend an orientation on Wednesday, Nov. 8th at 6:00 pm at PAL Humane Society. PAL is located at 4155 North Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130. If it is not possible for you or your group to attend this meeting, please let us know so we can arrange an additional orientation. This is an amazing cause to get involved with! About PALNV

Location:

4155 N. Rancho Dr. #150, Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89130, US

Mission Statement

"PALNV is dedicated to building communities that improve animal life. Our focus is saving community cats that are at risk. "

Description

PALNV is a nonprofit organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place for the animals that do not have homes. PALNV partners with The Animal Foundation, TNR Trappers and Colony Feeders to take in cats facing homelessness on the streets and house them in our Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe. Once they are at our cafe, our staff and fosters care for the cats and kittens, working with them to get ready for adoption. They stay with us until they find their forever homes and as our cats are adopted, we reach out to our partners to bring us more cats and kittens thus being a part of the solution to saving our community cats.

PALNV is the Nevada Affiliate for Rescue Bank, a program of GreaterGood.org. We work with 501c3 rescues, feral cat organizations and pet food pantries to provide pet food which helps the organizations so they can use their dollars for medical care, adoptions and supplies.

PALNV has been in business since 1993. The organization started in Victorville, CA and moved their operations to Las Vegas in 2014. We are now located on N Rancho Drive near W Craig Road.

Volunteers are vital to our operations here at PALNV. We continually seek to expand our programs with volunteer support. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on donations and volunteer efforts to help us achieve our goals and saving our communities at risk cats.
