Earth Day Austin 2017 will be the largest, most engaging Earth Day event yet with 4 stages, outdoor activities, discovery zones, exhibitors, meditation, and an environmental emphasis.
Volunteers will assist at the info booth, different activity zones, stages, exhibitor areas, etc. There are also opportunities for groups including set up in Friday Aprl 21, Saturday April 22, and tear down April 22.
Earth Day 2017 is an event for everyone. This year, we will be at Huston-Tillotson University, a historically black college, which will allow the Environmental Justice conversation to continue in Austin's environmental community. Earth Day has a historical educational component, as it was started at universities in 1970. Our goal is to create an engaging event that inspires action and discovery and is fun for all ages.
Earth Day Austin is a free event and open to the public. We are expecting 10,000 attendees.
Every volunteer gets snacks, a t-shirt, and non-alcoholic drinks as well as the chance to participate in an amazing environmental event. Volunteers must be 16 or older. Each volunteer shift is at least 3 hours.
