Riparian Shrub Berry Collections
Synergy Ecological Restoration

We are thrilled to have located, with the help of our friends, several ecotypic populations of riparian trees and shrubs such as alder, river birch, and woods rose at Button Rock Preserve in Lyons. These are very important species for wildlife habitat and erosion control as well as for shading rivers and streams from the blistering summer sun. With your collection help we will be able to produce new tree and shrub stock for upcoming river restoration events!

Together with our partners, we will be producing 1,000's more native shrubs for future restoration projects. But not without your help.

Don't feel like driving that far yourself? Carpooling from Loveland is always an option and very much encouraged!

If you are unable to attend, please consider attending our end of the season events on November 5 and 12.

All of these projects are great for individuals, families (children over 14), and groups (schools/universities, businesses, churches, clubs, etc.). Join us for some fun and education in the great Colorado outdoors. If you know other folks who may be interested, please spread the word!

Register Today!
Once you are registered and the the date draws near, you will be sent project details with location, directions, and what to bring.

About Synergy Ecological Restoration

Location:

PO Box 212, Fort Collins, CO 80522, US

Mission Statement

To develop enduring restoration solutions for our lands and waters through the creation of diverse public- private partnerships.

Description

The frequency of ecological disturbance caused by wildfires, floods, recreation, urban sprawl, mining, and oil & gas development is increasing at a steady rate throughout the Southern Rockies and High Plains. In light of this disturbance pressure, the ecotypic plant materials necessary to restore these disturbances are largely unavailable, economically impractical, or are comprised of native plant cultivars originating from outside of the ecoregion (Northern Montana, Canada, New Zealand, etc.). Collaborating with dozens of agency, non-profit organizations, and private sector partners, Synergy Ecological Restoratoin is working to develop an appropriate seed source necessary to maintain the genetic, water quality, wildlife habitat, hunting and fishing, grazing, and recreation benefits that our forests and grasslands provide.
