Who: Texas Advocacy Project

Texas Advocacy Project, Inc. (the "Project") is a statewide, nonprofit, legal organization that provides free legal, advocacy, and financial empowerment services. Started in 1982 as a legal hotline, the agency has evolved into an expert on issues affecting survivors of domestic violence, teen dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Project attorneys, staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors are committed to advancing the organization’s vision that all Texans live safely in hope, not fear.

What: The Black & White Ball, Presented by Accenture

Join leaders in the legal, consulting, finance, and technology fields for an evening of live music, auctions, and awards celebrating 37 years of service. At the 13th Annual Black & White Ball, The Project will honor community leaders who embody its mission of preventing violence through free legal services, access to the justice system, and education for victims.

Mission Statement

Texas Advocacy Project provides FREE legal services statewide to victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Description

Texas Advocacy Project is a non profit law firm working directly with victims, shelters, law enforcement agencies, and courts across Texas to deliver effective legal services to Texans in need. Our services are free of charge and provide the type of long-term solutions which break the cycle of violence for thousands of Texans each year. We accept clients without regard to ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or county of residence. Further minimizing barriers to legal services, we have English and Spanish-speaking attorneys and utilize a language interpretation service available around the clock, allowing us to give legal advice in over 170 languages. The Project also employs a service for deaf callers.
