Patient Visit Volunteers Needed - Metropolitan Detroit area offers flexible schedules

I’m so exciting to share this life changing opportunity that will get your feet on the ground bring comfort and so much joy to our veterans! At John D. Dingell VA Medical Center located at 4646 John R. St., Detroit, MI 48201 we are looking to add some smiling faces that can regularly conduct "patient visits".

POSITION SUMMARY

A Patient Visit Volunteer is a regular volunteer who conducts patient visits at the VA Medical Center delivering care and comfort items to both inpatients veterans & their families.

PURPOSE

This position will provide support to the VA Medical Center's staff by reducing the time that healthcare providers sit with an inpatient to provide non-medical services while such assistance & comfort may aid in the recovery of the patient possibly reducing inpatient medical hospitalization time.

Results

This position will help us reach more veterans & their families to engage more volunteers to support our mission of providing support, care & comfort to our veterans.
