The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center is looking caring and compassionate volunteers to visit with seniors in our community. We have two important volunteer roles we are looking to fill:
PACE Center Volunteers
Provide conversation and companionship to our seniors at one of our PACE day programs. Help with games, bingo, crafts, computers, and other activities. If you have a talent you would like to share even better! We have had volunteers teach painting , origami, and Spanish classes.
PACE centers are open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. We have programs in East Boston, Revere, and Winthrop.
Volunteer Visitors
Visits may be to provide company to a senior living in a care facility who does not have family nearby who can visit, to help provide respite to family members caring for a senior who may not otherwise have the opportunity to have time to themselves, or to provide company to a senior in palliative care in their home. Location vary but are usually in East Boston, Revere, Winthrop or Chelsea.
Hours are usually very flexible and this is a great opportunity for those who work during the day.
If you feel that you could fill one of these the role, please contact Volunteer and Student Services and we can begin the process of you joining our team.
