The Mary Kelly Community Center is a not-for-profit agency that has taken over an older abandoned KCMO School District Building. We have a basketball goal that has deteriorated due to many years of use and recent physical abuse. This is a standard glass and steel basketball goal that you would find in any public school. It is bolted directly to the wall with four additional broken supporting cables. If you can do this type of building facilities work safely, or know someone that can, then we would love you to help us out! The safety of our community members is a big concern for us. Unfortunately, we simply don’t have a budget to make repairs like this.
Ultimately, we are looking for a few volunteers to champion facilities maintainance. We hope to locate a few volunteers wiling to work as little or as much as possible to help out. Similarly, we are looking for someone to can help us make educated decisions about where and when we can make changes and improvement.
The problem with the basketball specifically is that the bolts are reverse threaded on each end and they are stripped.
