volunteers

Here at PICC, we register naturalized immigrants to vote at the Citizenship Ceremonies in USCIS. However, registering to vote is just the first step in becoming an engaged citizen. Starting in October, we will be calling PICC Registered Voters to ensure they have all the information they need to cast their ballots on November 8th. This is a great opportunity to meet other volunteers, and educate new citizens on their right to vote.

Most of our phonebanks will be from 5:30-8pm on Weekdays or on Sunday afternoon. We will train all volunteers upon arrival, so please be on time.

Everyone will receive free pizza (including vegan options!)

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Paula Meninato, our Civic Engagement Coordinator, at paulameninato@paimmigrant.org or at 215-832-0895.

Mission Statement

PICC is a diverse coalition that represents the needs of immigrants, migrants, refugees and other new Americans living in Pennsylvania to policy makers, public officials, and the general public. We seek to educate the public and develop support for fair policies that welcome and sustain immigrants.

Description

We believe that immigrants, refugees and other new Americans make significant contributions to our nation, state, region, and our local communities. They pay taxes in our local economy, revitalize neighborhoods as renters, consumers and even business owners and home owners, and bring a rich cultural diversity.
