This is our second annual 5k race and it is the biggest fundraiser of the year now for Atlanta Lab Rescue. We are expecting to have 600-800 runners, so we will need many volunteers to help make the race a success. We need volunteers for: race day parking, vendor set up, packet pick up, day of registration, dog handlers, race marshalls, set up, clean up, etc.
All volunteers that sign up will receive a free Atlanta Lab Rescue 5k volunteer tshirt.
Volunteers can sign up to help with the race on our signup genius site at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4fada72fa75-alr5kvolunteers
Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions before signing up. Thank you!

Mission Statement
ALR's mission is to identify and rescue Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes.
Description
Atlanta Lab Rescue (ALR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit (501c3) organization. Our mission is to identify and rescue Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We average 40-50 dogs in the program at any given time and have rescued over 3,000 dogs, and an occasional cat or two, since our inception. We've also been known to use the word Labrador pretty loosely. We don’t breed discriminate, and are known to have many Honorary Labs in our program. We will also never turn away a bonded pair, even if the bond is formed in the shelter.
What makes ALR special is that we not only take pets abandoned at shelters, but also dogs with critical health issues that no one else will take. This includes: pregnant and senior dogs, dogs with serious injuries, including those hit by cars or shot and left on the side of the road, as well as dogs dumped at the shelter after being diagnosed with cancer. Through the love and care of ALR volunteers, many dogs have beaten the odds and have a second chance at a happy life.
