Help adult learners grow their financial literacy skills by acting as a short-term financial literacy instructor.
Financial literacy, as defined by The President’s Financial Advisory on Financial Literacy is "the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being."
The Literacy Alliance is looking for a special volunteer to teach financial literacy skills once a week for 13 weeks to adult learners, 45 minutes per lesson.
Volunteers will have a chance to use their own valuable knowledge and combine it with a pre-written curriculum developed by Junior Achievement* to help adults better understand their financial options.
Please contact Josie Martinez, Volunteer Coordinator, if you would like to learn more about this potential opportunity. Training will be provided.
*Topics covered include: income, savings, investing, risk management, debit & credit, and budget. Curriculum includes written lessons, learning materials, and extension activities.
