UCAAN - United Cancer Advocacy Action Network is a Grassroots, Award Winning, Cancer organization that started in Thousand Oaks and has relocated to Moorpark.
Since our inception in 2009, we have impacted the lives of over 10.750 cancer patients nationwide in 11 years!
We focus on the different ways that we can help those with cancer in our community and beyond. This includes customized resources, education, preventative dental care information, healthy eating and living information, treatment options, a personal fundraising program, inspiration and hope and much more!
We are an award winning organization and are looking for amazing & dedicated people to join our team and help us grow. We have a HUGE Goal of one day becoming the Largest Financial Assistance Cancer Organization in the country, but we cannot do that without YOUR Help!
We're looking for board members who are dedicated, driven and love what we're doing to help cancer patients, especially ones in our community! People who have connections in the community and know how to fundraise, write grants, expand our social media or other expertise are welcomed and encouraged!
Currently we hold our board members on Zoom, but we will eventually have in person meetings. The commitment time depends on the person. But we do have monthly board meetings that run for an hour, sometimes 1.5 hours. We also have a mid month board meeting to talk about fundraising, which takes some of that conversation from our regular board meetings. :)

"While all of the other organizations are raising money for research, who is helping the patients? The reality is that while research has progressed and we have discovered treatments to prolong a cancer patients life, survivors are living longer lives with a worsened quality of life. There are more side effects that are making a cancer patients’ quality of life even more difficult. These side effects include but are not limited to brain damage, memory problems, infertility, degenerative disc disease, deterioration of teeth & jaw bones, congestive heart failure, and post traumatic stress disorder! "

This is United Cancer Advocacy Action Network’s Long Term Goal! To provide financial assistance to help survivors live a better quality of life - through chiropractic care, dental care, healthy eating/healthy living aid, gym memberships and more!

- We are looking for board members who are available at least for our monthly board meetings, committee meetings that they are interested in being a part of. We hope all board members will also give a monetary gift to UCAAN annually.
