Are you great at interacting with the public? Do you love animals and the barn atmosphere? Then consider volunteering at the WNC Nature Center Petting Area!

There are available Petting Area shifts on Wednesdays or Thursdays 9:45am-12:15pm

Duties include:

  • educating the public about goat, sheep, and donkey species as well as other interesting facts
  • Keeping the petting area clean by sweeping up stool throughout the day.
  • Ensuring guests adhere to safety guidelines including using hand sanitizer and not climbing into enclosures with animals.
  • Standing for 2.5 hours at a time, bending, and lifting.
