Responsibilities:
We are looking for experienced volunteer photographers skilled in outdoor, indoor, and/or portraiture. This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio while supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East.
Volunteer photographers are needed to shoot home dedication events, home building volunteers in action, fundraising events, and homeowner portraits. Your subjects may be families in our homeownership program, volunteers, construction crews, donors or Habitat staff.
Settings will be a mixture of indoor/outdoor, large/small groups, and different light settings. In your response, don't hesitate to share what type of photography you enjoy.
Volunteers must have their own camera, basic knowledge of photography, and ability to submit photos within a few days of shoot. Please be ready to show examples of your work either in digital form.
This volunteer position will be working directly with the Director of Communications on an on-call basis.
Required:
-Great photography skills with the ability to take photos in various light settings.
-Own your own camera and photography equipment/software.
-Ability to submit photos within a few days of shoot.
Preferred:
-Video production and editing skills are a plus but not required.
Position Details
Lengthof commitment: Ongoing. We request a 3-month minimum commitment.
Estimated total hours: This is not a time-intensive position. We can work with your schedule to determine the number of events.
Schedule: The schedule varies based on event times, but photography editing time can be done at your home with a flexible schedule.
Location: Work on the scene at build sites, family homes or at events.

Habitat for Humanity Portland Region serves Multnomah County, east Washington County, and northern Clackamas County and has the ability to reach out to families one step away from homelessness. Habitat sells homes to hardworking people in need of decent, affordable housing. We are an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-denominational Christian housing ministry and global home-building movement. We welcome people from all walks of life to partner with our program to serve families in need with generosity, humility, and love.
