Mission Statement

We are the leading regional nonprofit organization that provides practical, on-the-ground technical assistance to businesses, public agencies, communities, and nonprofits that are seeking to conserve resources and improve economic performance.

Description

PPRC provides technical assistance and information services to those interested in reducing their source pollution--particularly small and medium-sized businesses that are in need of support and resources. PPRC believes that pollution prevention plays an important role in promoting sustainability by reducing or eliminating waste at the source by modifying production processes, promoting the use of non-toxic or less-toxic substances, implementing conservation techniques, and re-using materials rather than putting them into the waste stream. PPRC believes that a healthy environment and strong economy work hand in hand.

Central contributions include:

  • Making high quality information available to decision-makers in business and other sectors to help them integrate pollution prevention into their operations
  • Identifying P2 obstacles and opportunities through collaborative networking with business, government, and other constituencies
  • Catalyzing projects that address environmental challenges and bringing people and resources together to implement pollution prevention
  • Promoting pollution prevention as an essential element of sustainable development strategies

PPRC has established itself in the Northwest and nationally as an essential resource for pollution prevention. As a neutral force, PPRC educates its audiences, facilitates communication, and initiates progressive change.
