Many home hospice patients need volunteer services. Outpatient Support volunteers goes once a week to a patients home, to either sit with a patient, provide companionship, read to them, chat with them, watch tv, and provide their family a much needed break. Going into a patient home can be a bit daunting, but at Novant Health Hospice, we provide you with all the information and training necessary to be successful. Most all patient support volunteers report that the assignement and patient effected them more than they effected the patient.
Please help, as we want to make sure we provide the most remarkable help and care to our patients.

Description
Providing care for a loved one who is sick and can no longer look after themselves can be one of the biggest challenges a family has to face. Our hospice services provide a wide range of services and care-giving that can help patients and their loved ones when it is needed the most. Comfort, compassion and dignity are at the forefront of the care we provide.
Our hospice care specialists provide care for terminally ill patients and their families. We know how sensitive these times may be, and our goal is to provide patients and their families with effective healthcare that will improve the quality of a patient’s last days.
We provide an individualized treatment plan to comfortably manage pain and physical symptoms of each need a patient may have. Our team is made of doctors, nurses, medical social workers, chaplains, grief counselors, and volunteers that work together to help patients live life as comfortably and fulfilled as possible.
