Would you like to help Cambridge middle-school students with homework and academic skill-building? Do you have just 90 minutes a week to make a difference in an individual student's life? Then become a tutor-mentor at one of the five local Learning Centers sponsored by Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) this semester!
Learning Centers are in session--at the Amigos, Cambridge Street, Putnam Avenue, Rindge Avenue, and Vassal Lane--upper (middle) schools on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, from 3:00-4:30. Tutors are matched one-to-one with individual students to work together for one semester or more. A school staff person and many other tutors are also there to lend their support!
In particular, right now, this spring, we are seeking two volunteer tutors to work with students at the Putnam Avenue Learning Center on Tuesday afternoons and one volunteer tutor to work with a student at the Rindge Avenue Learning Center on Wednesdays.
You can sign-up directly for a new volunteer orientation session and become a middle-school Learning Center tutor right on the CSV website: http://www.csvinc.org/for-volunteers/how-to-get-started/ Or please contact Kasey Appleman, Director of K-8 Volunteers, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additionally, if you have any questions about the Learning Centers or any of our other CSV programs, or if you would like to register for one of our new volunteer orientations by phone, please call us at the office--617 349-6794.
Thank you so much for your interest in making a difference in students' lives and in Cambridge School Volunteers! We look forward to hearing from you!
