Puppy Rescue Org seeks Finance/Accounting Specialist
Seattle-based Georgia Peaches Puppy Rescue is an all volunteer 501c3 established in 2012. We rescue puppies from high-kill areas primarily in the Southern U.S. and bring them to safety and to loving homes in the Seattle area.
We are seeking a finance professional with experience and expertise in nonprofit accounting, reporting, compliance and operating requirements for an estimated time commitment of 5-10 hours per month.
Specific tasks would include the following: - Filing form 990N and establishing a filing calendar - Prepare template for monthly financial reports to the board of directors - Assist us to identify and manage risk
We need someone to join us ASAP to do this hand's on work and stay on to advise on finance matters going forward. Ideal candidate would have experience serving in a finance/accounting role as staff or board member of a non-profit organization. A puppy-loving CPA would be a plus!

Description
Georgia Peaches Puppy Rescue (GPPR) is a Seattle-based organization funds the transport and health care of puppies from disadvantaged situations such as high kill shelters and crowded rescues in the Southeast to Seattle where rescue puppies are in short supply. Some are surprised to hear this fact, but our local spay and neuter practices lead to very few puppies in our shelters. Because there is the opposite problem in the Southeast, we are working hard to prevent euthanasia of these puppies in overcrowded shelters by flying them here where they are adopted very quickly and easily into loving, forever homes. In fact, we often have a waiting list for our peach pups!
