The LGBT Elder Initiative is a small, grass-roots organization dedicated to helping LGBT older adults to age successfully. We rely on our volunteers for a variety of tasks to help the organization run smoothly. That’s where you come in. You can help us grow and be able to serve the aging LGBT community better. Do you want to engage in advocacy on behalf of LGBT older adults? Do you write well? Are you tech savvy? Are you good at organizing? Do you have ideas? Do you have a voice and want to use it? Any and all of your skills can be utilized by the LGBTEI. Let us know what you’re interested in and we will find a space for you. We can also work around your schedule and availability. Help us make a difference and strengthen this oftentimes ignored community.

Mission Statement
The LGBT Elder Initiative (LGBTEI) is committed to assuring that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender older adults have rights and opportunities to live vibrant, creative and mutually supportive lives. To achieve this vision, the mission of the LGBTEI is to foster and advocate for services and resources that are competent, culturally sensitive, inclusive and responsive to the needs of LGBT elders in the Delaware Valley and beyond.
Description
The Elder Initiative is a grass-roots organization comprised of volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities. Members of the LGBTEI are consumers, aging services providers, LGBT services providers and community groups and organizations of all types. The LGBTEI advances its mission through advocacy, education, information dissemination, and referral.
