We’d love your help ensuring we have a fun and safe Meridian Holiday Lights Parade this season. We’re looking for responsible individuals 18 or older that are not shy about keeping pedestrians safe.
Date: Friday, November 30
Time: 3 :00 pm to approx. 9 pm
Where to meet: We will meet in the lobby of City Hall for a short briefing, hand out safety vests and grab some hot cocoa before dispersing to our posts.
Location: The parade route begins at Franklin and Main Street in Meridian. The parade makes a right on Pine and heads back up Third St. to Storey Park, the staging area.
Parking for you: Main Street will be closed to traffic by 5:30 pm. You may still head northbound on Main Street and head over to Meridian Road and use the employee overflow parking lot, it's west on the backside of Meridian City Hall. If you are stationed on the east side of Main Street, there is neighborhood parking and unrestricted street parking on Broadway, just south of the Busted Shovel. You may want to park your car and walk over to City Hall, so your car will be on the correct side of the parade route at the end of the event.
What to wear: Dress for winter weather conditions, hats, gloves, warm comfortable shoes, you are out in the elements the entire time. You will be given a reflective safety vest to wear on the outside of your clothing. Festive reindeer or Santa hats are encouraged; you’re part of the festivities too!
It’s an exciting evening filled with lights, Santa and excited children all about, come out and be part of the magic of the season!
