Would you like to help low income tax payers in Mission Viejo?
You will receive training worth an estimated $5,000 or more, free from the IRS.
Once you are qualified to help taxpayers, another perk is that you can do your taxes and family members returns for free using our state-of-the-art tax software.
We serve the public on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during tax season. Our site is located at the St. Kilian Church Parish Center.
Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds. Your level of knowledge about taxes isn't the most important thing since we have many opportunities within our organization
You can be trained to be as a greeter, intake interviewer, or tax preparer. We even have a few volunteers who help with snacks and keep our operations running smoothly in the background. You can serve wherever you feel most comfortable.
We have had volunteers become highly-paid CPAs and Enrolled Agents from the tax knowledge and experience they gained here.
If you're looking for a way to give back after years as a financial professional or you're looking to increase your skill set to increase your income or want to volunteer with a group of great people, contact us below. We can't wait to meet you.

Mission Statement
At St Kilian VITA we serve the low income taxpayers in our community. We help them file their taxes for free. We serve all that qualify for our program, financially.
Description
VITA at St Kilians Church in Mission Viejo, CA is a vibrant group of adults composed of local community members. Our volunteers come from varied backgrounds, some are retired financial professionals, others college students and some are members of the parish.
We help taxpayers prepare and file their taxes from the beginning of February to the end of filing season on April 15th. We serve them on Saturday mornings during tax season from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Our training in preparing taxes comes directly from the IRS. It is conducted in late October through January. We offer in-person training sessions and training online. Tests are administered by the IRS to qualify volunteers for what type of taxes they can prepare The training alone could be valued at $5,000 or more and is given to the volunteers for FREE.
Another perk of volunteering is that you are allowed to do your taxes for free and those of your family members and friends.
We also receive support from the United Way of Orange County.
We volunteer upstairs in the Parish Center at St Killian's Mission Viejo. We take good care of our volunteers. We have a fully stocked snack table, water, coffee, and tea.
If you're looking for a way to give back to your community and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or serving soup isn't your thing, come volunteer with us.
