What is Shangri-La?
Shangri-La is a non-profit human services organization serving adults with disabilities and disadvantages so they may recognize and achieve their potential. We aim to create communities where all people are accepted for their abilities and celebrated for their achievements.
What does a Faith Companion do?
The Faith Companion will enrich the life of a person-served with developmental disabilities by coordinating church service visits and accompanying a person-served on their visit. A Faith Companion volunteer may also have the option to provide worship and faith-study services to a person-served at their Shangri-La home. Shangri-La will attempt to match Faith Companions with a person-served of similar faith and/or a person-served who attends/wants to attend the Faith Companion’s current place of worship.
* All activities must be approved by the house manager or staff.
Regular staff will provide supports for any personal needs of the individuals served.
Ideal volunteer is friendly, out-going, and caring.

Shangri-La provides services in Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lincoln and Lane counties. Volunteer opportunities vary by location. Please see individual volunteer opportunities for specific location.
