H4HUS provides equine and canine therapy to assist veterans and active duty military members.
In order to provide these programs, we need volunteers to help with dogs and horses, general maintenance, and special events.
We need help with the horses in the following areas: feeding, cleaning stalls and paddocks, fixing fences, grooming and handling horses, stacking hay, bedding, and grain.
To maintain the standard of training for our dogs, we are looking for volunteers who can: feed dogs, clean kennel area, take dogs out on hikes/walks and rides to park, perform treat training and agility maintenance, provide grooming and baths. Furthermore, we assistance when visiting VA hospitals and outpatient clinics, handling dogs at fundraisers and trade shows and fairs, and helping with transport during canine clinics.
Volunteers are always needed during special events and fundraisers, such as the annual Fall Festival, Chili Cookoff and various Carolina Horse park events maintain safety of spectators. Finally, we are looking for someone who can help find local businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities, help with social media, as well as website maintenance and changes.
