The Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative (JDAI) Law Enforcement & Youth Advisory aide (LEYA) will act as a link btween Law Enforcement and the Hennepin County JDAI/Deep End reform efforts. The LEYA will:
- Provide law enforcement information about community-based & county resources and offer service to support youth & families
- Assist in development & deployment of a Youth Advisory Committee for the juvenile justice system
- Assist in identifying & developing viable community based alternatives to detention
- Serve as first contact and liaison for law enforcement and detention alternatives
- Seek & solicit community collaborations/resources
- Assist in planning & organizing community meetings, public forums, training events
- Update & maintain the Hennenpin County JDAI SharePoint site
- Assist in redeploying the JDAI newsletter

In cooperation with the community, Hennepin County Juvenile Probation will protect public safety by reducing the incidence and impact of delinquency by youth on probation, while being responsive to their welfare and needs.
Description
The Juvenile Probation Division is responsible for conducting pre-sentence, Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction and Adult Certification investigations for the Juvenile Court. Some programs designed to serve adjudicated juvenile offenders include: General Supervision & Specialized Caseloads, the Gun Offender Program, Sentencing to Service, Sole Sanction Community Service/Restitution, & Evening Reporting Centers.
