Ride with Meals on Wheels Driver and help deliver

ORGANIZATION: Community Emergency Service

  • 11 people are interested

We have a staff route that Bob (a CES employee) drives and he needs a person to ride along and take the meal to the door. It's difficult to find parking in some places, so it's faster if one person drives and the other person schleps. The route is Monday thru Friday from 11 am to about 12:30 pm. Bob needs help on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday--try it once and see if you like it. You can even call the day before to find out if we need help--and we usually do.

No car is necessary, just a smile and a friendly attitude when you are delivering the meals to clients. We are located at 1900 11th Ave S, Mpls 55404 and we deliver to the surrounding area. If you try it and enjoy delivering food to the elderly, you could volunteer to help once a week or once a month or whenever it fits into your schedule. Call Melanie at 612-870-1125 x128 to reserve a day to try it out!

About Community Emergency Service

Location:

1900 11th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55404, US

Mission Statement

Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

Description

Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.

CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.

At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.

Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
