ORGANIZATION: Skyline Urban Ministry

  • 10 people are interested

If a patron comes to Skyline for food assistance for the first time, we like to provide them a private place to share their information as they get a new case made.

This is why the new intake position is so essential and requires a balance of sensitivity and logic, plus comfort using a computer. A patron will have filled out a paper with all of the data that needs to be entered into the system, but we would like volunteers who are able to help people feel at ease and treated with respect throughout the process. The ideal volunteer would be someone friendly and nonjudgmental, as well as comfortable with enforcing policy.

Because it takes at least a week to get used to using the database and learning policy, this is considered a long-term position. Skyline staff can work with volunteers' availability!

Shifts can begin at 9 AM each morning and can last until the Food Resource Center closes. The hours of the FRC are as follows:

  • Monday 1 PM - 6 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday 10:30 AM - 2 PM
  • Wednesday 1 PM - 4 PM
  • Friday 9 AM - 12 PM
  • Saturday 9 AM - 11 AM

Mission Statement

Skyline’s mission is to impact lives, empower those in need and to address the roots of poverty in Oklahoma.
