Spanish Interpreters needed for Parent-Teacher conferences

The Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center of Family Service, Inc. is seeking Spanish-language intepreters for Parent-Teacher conferences on November 10 and November 11, 2016.

This assistance allows parents to fully participate in building a relationship with their child's teacher and to learn about their child's educational experience at Gaithersburg Elementary School.

Volunteers are asked to offer a minimum of a 2-hour shift for at least one of the two days of conferences, but we would appreciate if volunteers could stay longer and/or help on both days. Conferences are held from 1:00-4:00pm and then from 4:00-8:00pm. Each conference lasts 10-15 minutes.

Volunteers need to be fluent in English and Spanish, and knowledge of educational terminology is a plus. Volunteers need to arrive 30 minutes before their assigned shift to receive a brief training and a map of the classrooms, and to meet the teacher they will be assisting.
