Mission Statement

San Francisco Community Radio is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization, which operates a listener-supported, non-commercial community radio station broadcasting locally-generated shows. Its mission is to reflect the diversity of San Francisco through quality music and information programming, serving communities not currently served by broadcast radio.

Description

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization broadcasting 24 hour music and cultural programming, committed to work with and for the community we do radio for. Shows on our schedule range from New Music shows to Brazilian, Jazz, Metal, Chinese, Turkish, German and French shows. Until 2011 and for 34 years, we used to be KUSF 90.3FM and defined free-form local radio that reflected the city’s unique heart and soul. Famous for featuring diverse cultural programs as well as new underground music, KUSF served a dozen different language groups. After the sale of the 90.3 FM frequency and shutting KUSF down, all volunteers have been hard at work to continue programming online as San Francisco Community Radio. We are looking forward to getting back on the air in 2017 with a low power frequency restoring an essential voice of the San Francisco Bay Area.
