Native Plant Cultivation at Audubon Center at Debs Park

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: LA WORKS RSVP

The Audubon Center at Debs Park opened in 2003 as an environmental education and conservation center for the communities of northeast Los Angeles. Their mission is to inspire people to experience, understand and care for the local natural world with nature-based education and community programs designed to engage children and their families in the outdoor world and give them a personal stake in its protection.

Volunteer Project: The Audubon Center at Debs Park has for some time been restoring the park’s environment by cultivating native plants with the help of volunteers at their onsite nursery. They need lots of help! You can help by collecting seeds, tending to seedlings in the nursery, and planting and maintaining various sites around the park, all while learning about native plant life and habitats and contributing to the environmental restoration of Los Angeles.
