The 4 th Annual Holiday Giving Tree at the Lohse Family YMCA is a program focused on giving back to those in our community. Community members will find the Holiday Giving Tree to be a warm experience during the holiday season that helps spread holiday cheer to those in need. Since 2012, this program has served over 95 families, 350 individuals. Beginning in November members of the community can visit the Lohse Family YMCA lobby to pick an ornament tag. These tags have a family member listed who is in need and their requested items. Once selected, community members shop for the family and bring back their donated items. The Lohse Family YMCA’s Christmas Elves will work around the clock to ensure all our families in need receive their gifts.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR:
(November 1 st - December 23 rd)
Prior to program:
(November 1 st-23 rd)
- create ornament tags for families
- create family tracking sheet
- create 2016’s program catch phrase and messaging
- price out items needed
- work with program director to create flyers
- hanging program posters
- decorate the Holiday Giving Tree
During program:
(November 25 th-December 23 rd)
- track progress on family tracking sheet
- create pick-up sign-out sheet
- organize donations
- monitor donations and track remaining needs
- coordinate wrapping event
- create family holiday cards

Description
We seek to impact our community through YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. We focus on prevention, but we would like to expand our efforts in leadership development and character building. We seek to expand into the "health-seeker" market. Our impact in social responsibility will be demonstrated by taking leadership in the community, addressing critical needs and engaging in partnerships and advocacy.
