If you would like to make a difference in someone's life, become a hospice volunteer! Compassionate, dependable individuals may apply for volunteer opportunities with Visiting Nurse and Community Health in Arlington, MA.

Hospice Volunteers offer companionship for patients and respite for caregivers. Activities range from doing crafts together, playing games together, reading a book or playing music for a patient, or talking and listening to patient's stories as they share their memories.

Yoga instructors can offer breathing techniques and gentle movements to benefit patients.

Reiki practitioners are also encouraged to apply.

Commitment is 6 months, 1-2 h/week flexible to your schedule. Training is provided. Additional sitting vigil training is provided for if interested.

This may be one of the most fulfilling volunteer experiences of your life!

Description

In March 2017, Greater Medford Visiting Nurse Association and Visiting Nurse and Community Health, based in Arlington, merged to form Visiting Nurse & Community Care (VNCC).

Both of these nonprofit organizations had been providing home health care, private care, hospice care and community health programs for more than a century and will continue to offer the same high-quality services to 63 communities in the greater Medford/Arlington area.
