Living Arts is an Arts-Education non-profit in Detroit looking for helpers with an event preparing materials for various art project workshops for el Dia de los Muertos at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center in Southwest Detroit. We will need about 10-15 volunteers to assist with setting up and tearing down the event and to help with groups of various aged children. We appreciate all help! We expect this opportunity to be from 2:00- 9:00 p.m. Looking for 10-15 volunteers. Documentation of community service hours will be provided for each participant upon request. Description
Living Arts is a community-based nonprofit, tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening the neighborhoods of Southwest Detroit by cultivating an environment that sparks the imagination and fosters ingenuity through the arts and community development initiatives.Founded as Southwest Dance in 1999, the program initially offered four weekly classes and served 19 students. From there, it grew into a multifaceted arts provider, anchored in dance education. In 2008, El Arte Alliance merged with Living Arts to serve as its arts-infused education division. Together, they have created a strong presence in Southwest Detroit, serving more than 4,000 community members with quality arts and culture experiences.
