Do you have a passion for education and an interest in criminal justice? Would you like to learn more about the criminal justice system firsthand while giving back to a community of people who often go neglected and overlooked? If so, then the Petey Greene Program has the perfect opportunity for you!

The Petey Greene Program is a nonprofit organization that supplements education in correctional institutions by preparing volunteers to provide free, quality tutoring and related programming to support the academic achievement of incarcerated people. Petey Greene volunteer tutors provide an educational solution for incarcerated students in jails and prisons in the New York City area. Here’s a line taken from a letter one of our students wrote us: " My experience with tutors like G.C. has really reaffirmed the hope that there are still agents of good in the world who have not forgotten about, or written-off, those of us who comprise the prison population ."

If you want a significant volunteer experience with a profound impact for student and tutor alike, visit us at www.peteygreene.org/nyc to learn more about volunteer opportunities and TO APPLY.

If you still have questions you can send an email to kmorse @peteygreene.org with any inquiries.
