Partake in a festive German time-honored tradition! Albert Einstein Academies Charter Elementary School students will illuminate the streets of South Park with self-made lanterns in honor of St. Martin, a patron saint of the poor. We are seeking high school-aged and adult volunteers to help guide participants during the Lantern Festival Parade in South Park. The parade route will loop around a 4-block radius starting from approximately 30th and A St. (back gate of Albert Einstein Academies Charter Elementary School). The procession will take place following a celebration on the school grounds with Bratwursts, drinks and desserts. In the spirit of St. Martin, the middle school participates in a blanket and coat drive to provide blankets and coats for the homeless in San Diego. Additionally, volunteers will be called upon to help break down the event. Volunteer hours will be given.
