ORGANIZATION: Junior Achievement of Northern California

Junior Achievement of Northern California is partnering with the America Banking Associations’ Community Engagement Foundation Get Smart About Credit initiative, throughout the month of October. Volunteers from the financial services industry and community members who have a passion for helping teenagers manage their money have the opportunity to visit and teach a JA program to high schools classrooms around the Bay Area and Central California.

Using JA Finance Park(r), JA volunteers will facilitate a budget activity in Northern California classrooms. Students will practice preparing personal budgets, research and recognize the need for responsible spending, and explore options for paying for higher education.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Complete a 2016-17 JA Registration Form
  • Attending training via conference call or in person
  • Facilitate JA Finance Park’s Sample Budgets, Personal Budgets, and Paying for Post-Secondary Education activities in JA Economics classrooms...or... choose from our library of credit themed lessons ( 1 to 1 ½ hour time commitment)
  • Feel good about talking to students how to finance their higher education!!
