Do you have a strong desire to help others in your community?
Would you like to share some of your time with others?
Heartland Hospice has room for you to make a difference in the lives of others. We have hospice patients located throughout the Fort Wayne community that would enjoy your friendly visits. Our patients reside in homes, nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. No hands-on care required whatsoever. Free training is provided in the Fort Wayne area.

Mission Statement
The mission of Heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, phychosocial and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team utilizing an approach to the care delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility; working cooperatively with area health care providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay.

Studies have shown that hospice patients who receive volunteer services on average live 2 months longer than those who do not. A small amount of time on your part can give so much more to our patients.
