Carving Teams!
Teams carve pumpkins as part of the corporate challenge!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford & Somerville serve over 325 local youth aged 6-14 through its after-school programming each year. Over 90% of Club members are from low-income families. With annual membership dues of only $30, for approximately the same cost that a child can spend one day in other local after school programs, the Club welcomes a child for an entire school year.

The Great Pumpkin Glow is one of our annual fundraising events, held each fall in Kendall Square. It is a fun and popular yearly event that includes a corporate team pumpkin carving challenge, live music, games, treats, and a catered after-party! We need volunteers to run the registration station, set up tables, prep pumpkins for carving, keep carving teams stocked with supplies, hand out hot drinks and treats, and help ensure that the event runs smoothly!

There are multiple shifts- volunteers can sign up for 2:00-4:30 set up, 4:30-6:30 Main event, 6:30-8:30 Clean up, or any/all of the above!

Volunteer tasks will include set-up, event support (face-painting, snack serving, kids table support), and break-down. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting pumpkins, clearing food/trash, moving quickly through a large open space.

All volunteers will receive: pumpkin(s) and free entrance to the after party, which includes catered dinner and drinks. Please wear a black shirt!
